I guess I should mention, I don’t buy anything right now weekly unless it’s the boys, scalped, dmz, or big event related. That said, today, I covered my bases in terms of big events. New Avengers #41, Final Crisis #1, and Batman #677.

I was pretty pumped to get into crisis finally, after all the build… who wasn’t, after two seperate 52 week series? I must say, i feel rather let down by this issue. I know morrison is tying all of his shit together, but at this point, it is nowhere near cohesive. Each of his issues i’ve read in relation to this have felt like a clusterfuck. I’m really hoping it comes together into something a bit more concise and collected, because it is killing me right now.

Batman #677 on the other hand, is one of the best books I’ve read by morrison. Which is a stark contrast to the final crisis issue, as mentioned before. It is very well put together, and is really bringing a lot of previously given info to the forefront, and connecting it all in a big, big way. This book was really good, and makes me so much more excited to read the series, although i’m concerned for the safety of some of my favorite characters.

New Avengers #41 was also quite good. You can just feel the raging paranoia and contempt in the pages. I’ve loved new avengers and secret invasion from the start, and it is not disappointing yet. Hooray!

Good week, overall. I’m pleased.
