I was really excited to try this one, as it had come highly recommended from an old roommate of mine.  I will be honest, I was disappointed.  Maybe it is just that no brown ale will ever do it for me again, as long as I live, but this was just lackluster.  It was plenty boozy,  but not particularly flavorful within the malt profile.  The interesting part, was that the last half of each taste, was like biting into a tree.  A young tree at that.  It really did taste somewhat green, like I broke a tree open, and licked it.  Very strange.  Was it worth what I paid for it?  I think not… was it worth it to try? Absolutely.  Its a decent beer, and I’ve got no qualms finishing the 4 pack… I was just disappointed.  I was also sick, so I might be completely surprised the 2nd time through.

This deserves no more than a 6/10 in my book.  I really recommend trying it, just not a whole 4 pack.  Get a single bottle, and go in with a clear palate.
