Congress vs. William Gaines
As a long time reader of MAD Magazine I was always aware of the congressional hearings in the 50s with regard to the contents of comics of the day. I was never really clear on what the specifics were. Over at The New Yorker there’s an excellent article/primer on the whole issue. Definitely a good read for all you youngsters who barely remember the comics code.
