Wolverine 63, Amazing Spider-Man 553, Mighty Avengers 10

So far, thats all I’ve made it through for the week.  Here’s what I have to say:

Wolverine:  I was a tiny bit sketched out by the first issue of this arc, but this issue totally made up for it.  All the history between Mystique and Logan is really interesting to take a look at.  The fact that they’ve had a relationship of sorts for a hundred years is mind-boggling.   I really enjoy Jason Aaron’s writing and he’s doing a great job with this book.  He really does keep the twists and turns coming while continuing to unveil fragments of Logan’s past.  Excellent read this week.

Amazing Spider-Man:  Brand New Day continues with issue 2 of this arc.  The Freak.  He’s certainly something.  Although I have to say, as a scientist, I don’t care how many bundles of stem cell laden hypodermic needles you fall on and inject into yourself, at no point will you become bulletproof.  Nor will you have a corrosive cocoon.  Thats just stupid.  The rest of the issue was pretty good and amusing though.  Its getting better.  The art is also really quite good.  A bit old-school, but I really enjoy it.

Mighty Avengers: as I sit here, I struggle to remember anything about it, so it couldn’t have been great… but then it all comes flooding back.  The whole thing taking place in the 60’s or 70’s was an interesting touch, with the Sentry seeing his former self and having an emotional freak-out.   Does this really do anything for me, or the impending storyline?  eh… i don’t know.  It really bothered me that almost once a page, you’d see Stark’s armor scan Doom’s.  Then again, it would have likely just been empty space if not that.  A cool concept for an issue, although this close to Secret Invasion I was hoping for Skrullage.

Still got Punisher, DMZ, and Lone Ranger and Tonto to read.
